Safety & Rules

We want everyone to enjoy a fun and safe 5K on race day.

We absolutely want you to run with friends and family, dress for the occasion, and rock out!

Below are a few more specifics for the do’s and don’ts for the day:

Bibs/Race Numbers

All participants must wear the officially issued race number bib registered to the wearer.

Please wear your bib on your front or side of your outermost garment from start to finish in order for you to be recognized as an official participant and so we can send your official finish time.

Participants are required to start in their designated race. Starting in a different race will result in not being eligible for race awards from the ColderBOLDER.

Participant race number bibs are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged or transferred, given or sold to any other person.

The sale and/or transfer of race entries/bibs is strictly prohibited.

Strollers and Baby Joggers - Prohibited

All ages are welcome at the ColderBOLDER and BOLDERBoulder and we encourage you to make the day a family affair!

Backpacks are great for WALKING with kids that can’t do it on their own but remember, strollers and baby joggers are not allowed on the course.

Starting in a race ahead/after your assigned race

Please run in your assigned race. Runners who run after their assigned race will not be eligible for awards. If you need a bib change before the race please visit Solutions in Balch Fieldhouse on race day.

Anything beyond your own two feet
You can walk, jog, sprint or skip – but please don’t bring ice skates, sleds, cross country skis or anything else that lets you glide your way to the finish.
Walking or running with friends and family

It’s great to enjoy the day with your friends and family, but keep it to two abreast along the course so others can get by.

Pets
Rudolph is a great training partner, but you’ll need to leave all pets at home on race day.
Costumes
Go ahead and dress up however funny, funky or silly you like, but make sure your costume doesn’t extend beyond your body or connect you with anyone else.
Rocking out

Feel free to bring along your tunes and headphones, just keep the volume low enough that you can hear any instructions from the Announcer and Course Marshals

Spectators

Friends and family are welcome to cheer you along the course, but are not allowed on the course.

Alcohol

The use of alcohol during the ColderBOLDER is not allowed on the course or in Balch Fieldhouse.
